Mess with Pro Gamers in Tonight’s Red Bull LAN

By Lawrence Sonntag | 30 August 2012 | 0 Comments

A rather peculiar Red Bull LAN event will go down tonight at PAX. Starting at 6:00 PM PST, pro-gamers will compete in StarCraft II matches that spectators can directly influence. Both those watching online and in person will vote on a set of hazards that will spawn in the match and it’s not something silly like changing the map color. While the full details are saved for the event, you can look forward to every mineral patch being pulled to the center of the map or suddenly every harvester becomes a deadly attacking unit.

As usual for Red Bull LANs, Sean “Day[9]” Plott will MC the event while such players as EG iNcontroL, Liquid NonY, and the ragin’ Ukranian WhiteRa will all be in the melee.

It’s a fantastic idea, especially if you find normal StarCraft pro play unapproachable. You can watch the event over at the Red Bull LAN website,  and the first match starts at 8:00 PM PST. Sean “Day[9]” Plott will MC the event and commentate the matches, which is always entertaining.
