Screenshots of Cancelled Crytek Game ‘Redemption’ Surface

A project that is believed to have been cancelled by Crytek has surfaced online in the form of screenshots, provided by the online resume of Art Director at the studio Eric Cochonneau. During his four years on the project, he was “responsible for the art direction on an undisclosed AAA title for Xbox 360 and PS3,” he mentions on his webpage. Screenshots for the title appear to represent what Crytek had dubbed Redemption.

No, it’s not the “Red Dead” kind. But it looks just as cool.

You may judge for yourself, but the screenshots indicate a game set in deeply forested and overgrown areas. Environment screenshots and character art paint a story we’re very curious to hear more about, but since the project has been canned (or potentially shelved for a later date), we’ll simply have to tuck away our curiosities on the game for now.
