Update — Confirmed by SuperGiant, Super Sweet Trailer Released

Original Story

In a bit of a surprise announcement, Bastion will release on the Apple iPad globally later today and tomorrow (depending on your location and time zone), Apple’s New Zealand App Store indicates.

The indie hit from SuperGiant Games will run you $6.49 Australian or $4.99 US.  The game will implement GameCenter for achievement and leaderboard support, but will largely remain the same as its PC and console counterparts. In case you weren’t sure, that’s a good thing.

However, make sure you own an iPad 2 or a New iPad (iPad 3) before you make the purchase, as the description indicates that those two are the only hardware iterations capable of supporting the game. Sorry original iPad owners, but at least you have Angry Birds!

But let’s be serious for a moment – how many times will I have to buy this game? I’m certainly not complaining — the game is fantastic, but stop giving me the option to rebuy it SG!

You know I will. Time and time again.
