Uncharted Movie Hits Stumbles, New Screenwriters Brought on Board
According to an article in Variety from yesterday, the efforts to bring the hit PlayStation 3 franchise Uncharted to movie theaters has hit some snags, with Limitless director Neil Burger reportedly having left the project.
In order to right the ship, Sony has hired Marianne and Cormac Wibberly, the screenwriters for the National Treasure series, to rewrite the script for the Uncharted movie. When you think about it, they’re a pretty solid choice, considering the fact that both properties involve heroes trotting the globe, beating up bad guys, and trying to get treasures and goodies and whatnot. Of course, the National Treasure movies are terrible (based on my own viewing of most if not all of the first one), so that diminishes the news a bit.
The project will exist without a director attached until the duo are finished with their script, says the article.

Pls don’t fuck it up.
The first National Treasure was alright I thought.
Anyway, we all know that movie interpretations of a game have a tendency to suck, so I’m not exactly setting my expectations high. But that said, if this does end up being another crap movie tie-in, it will tarnish Uncharted’s reputation a bit, and that will make me very mad.
Holy fuck, please have Nic Cage, that makes everything moar funneh.
This news is good sense I thought from the beginning that somebody from the national treasure crew should have something to do with this movie. However, though I love Nick Cage, I would not like him to be in this movie because there is no one in the game who looks like him and he would make a terrible Nathan Drake. When you are making a movie from a game like super mario from the snes and nes days than theres room for interpretation but when you pull from a game based on characters that look and seem real as if they actually exist than youd better get actors that looks and sounds exactly like these characters. The reason Robert Dounty jr’s Iron man is perfect isnt just because he was a likable guy or actor, it was because he looks and sounds like exactly like Tony Stark.
Ryan Renalds(in my opinion) is more suited for characters like the flash & Deadpool.Though he doesn’t necessarily sound like dead pool,Rhyan has always given off that goofey personality that could be pretty whacky if he wanted to.Why they havent already made a deadpool movie by now is mind boggling to me because I like him even more so than spiderman and batman. It just seems like it would be a funny movie because they could make fun of everything and everyone as well as mess with the audience with his breaking of the 4rth wall and all.It should be the perfect mixture of action & comedy that pokes fun at various super heroes in the marvel universe.Whoever is making that movie needs to know that because if he just shoots and makes funny banter with bad guys it wont be a deadpool movie.Think Expendables meets Robot Chicken meets Sin City meets Shoot em up meets kung fu hustle, meets Kung pao enter the fist….lol
That was a sarcastic comment, although I do seriously know that the movie would end up being a joke if he was in it.
Hence, it’d be moar funneh.
