Gamescom 2012: New Star Trek Trailer and Screens

I can’t get enough Star Trek. And this new game based on the J.J. Abrams reboot movie looks pretty cool, if not necessarily the most in line with the spirit of the show. You know, how it’s all about making peaceful contact with other cultures and wacky space hijinks. The trailer above, however, looks more like a run around shoot-shoot laser beam explosion type situation. And while that’s fun, and I love that kinda thing, it’s not very Gene Roddenberry, you know?

But who cares? I’m still gonna play the crap out of this game. I’m hopeful that Namco Bandai gets the feel of the movie universe right…and that maybe there are going to be some more playable characters than just Kirk and Spock.

I guess I just don’t know enough about it. But I know I’m going to play it. Scheduled to come out early 2013 for major consoles…beam me up, please.
