SimCity Coming to Mac Exclusively via Origin in February
Today, Electronic Arts announced that their long-running franchise SimCity will come to the Mac exclusively via their Origin game client in February.
The announcement doesn’t offer too much in the way of details, like price or specific release date, but for the game-starved users of the Mac platform, I can imagine that this is probably good news. Right?
From the press release:
“With development being led by the creative team at Maxis, the Mac version of SimCity will feature the same deep, rich gameplay that will define the PC experience as players on both platforms compete or collaborate to create a new world, together.”
Now, to me, that sounds an awful lot like there will be cross-platform play between the PC and Mac versions, which is always cool. On the other hand, the release doesn’t come out and say, “this will allow for cross-platform online play,” so until there’s a hard announcement of such, I would wait on counting on that feature. Still—hooray for Mac users!
