Gamescom 2012: Half-Life 3 Mistakenly Appears on Conference Product Listing

A post on Joystiq this morning reveals that a product listing (PDF) for the Gamescom conference (which is going on right now) features a game that’s sure to get people talking: Half-Life 3. As many gamers know, Valve has held off on mentioning any information about the long-awaited sequel in the super-popular Half-Life franchise.

Alas, it was not meant to be: the folks at Eurogamer talked with the Gamescom organizers and asked what was up, since Valve explicitly stated last month that there’d be no game showings at the conference. And they said that the listing is simply “a mistake.” No other information was provided.

There’s pretty much only one reaction that’s appropriate to this kind of thing:

When Valve is involved, Trolling most certainly is a Art form.

Half Life 3 won’t happen soon. Valve has a “No boss policy” so they wont make something unless everyone is really loving the idea. They don’t want to finish half life 3, so they aren’t gonna finish it.

That’s not true, Gabe Newell was once in an Interview with 7 Day Cooldown and when asked about “Ricochet 2″, he said that anyone who had been working or started working on “Ricochet 2″ is STILL working on it.
