Gamescom 2012: Ubisoft Reveals AC III Liberation Screens and Trailer

By Brian P Rubin | 14 August 2012 | 0 Comments

I’ve been super excited about the new, Vita-exclusive Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation that’s set to come out this fall alongside its home console big brother, if for no other reason than it gives me something to do with the damn Vita. But the fact that it’ll offer a brand new story and character is pretty cool, I think.

The trailer above doesn’t do much to diminish that excitement, but I will admit that the touch-based controls it demonstrates don’t fill me with confidence either. I’m hopeful that the touch-control components will be a) COMPETENT or b) OPTIONAL, though I’m not really betting on either being the case. Touch-based controls can certainly work, but I don’t relish having to let go of the buttons to jam my fingers into the screen. And that back touch screen…man who’s idea was it to stick that thing on the Vita?

Anyway, regardless, I’m still gonna play the heck out of this thing when it comes out in October. When you’re done scoping out the trailer, don’t forget to have a look at these screenshots. Bonjour, Mademoiselle Assassin! (That’s French. You’re welcome.)
