Blizzard Announces Diablo III Free Starter Edition
Today, Blizzard sent out a press release to announce the Diablo III Free Starter Edition, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Available only through Battle.net, the starter edition, gives brand new players the chance to play through Diablo III’s first act, up to the Skeleton King boss (who, I assume, is both king AND boss of skeletons), and with a level cap of 13, all without having to actually buy the game.
All you have to do is log into Battle.net and sign up for the starter edition through the “Your Game Accounts” section. If you don’t have a Battle.net account, wellsir, then just go sign up for one.
Speaking personally, I won’t be doing this, mainly because it’ll probably make this old laptop sneeze, and also, I got things to do. THINGS TO DO, MAN.
Still, pretty awesome deal for the five or six of you who haven’t yet played Diablo III. More like DIABLO FREE, AMIRITE?

Sweet deal!
1460 games right now, gee I wonder why they decided to make a starter edition.
Well, looks like I’ll be able to kill my computer in style now without forking out the full price tag. Seriously, Blizzard, keep the good work up (especially on Heart of the Swarm).
So it’s basically a demo with a marketing spin.
I had starter edition a while back, I think it may have been because I was in beta, but oh well. The game was fun, but now all of my friends have stopped and nobody has touched it for 2 months :\.
Well that must be the main reason for this move… There are a lot of people who had enough of DiabloIII already… and lets face it, its not D2… so yeah they are trying to gain some new costumers.
Im still waiting for TL2
Diablo III Free Starter Addition: i look forward to anything and everything that comes our way…
Not a bad idea, im assuming its basically what you would get if you used one of the free trial codes from the retail game (i think there were 3 codes that came with mine) I still enjoy Diablo 3, although i am finding Inferno a little more frustrating.
Still, as said above, Not as addictive as Diablo 2
Great, new players will get barely a glimpse into the game without seeing any of the horrible letdown it actually is. Nor the ripoff that real cash is. This game is a Blizzard failure.
