Code of Princess Gets a Release Date

Remember Code of Princess? The new RPG for the 3DS from Atlus being made by Tetsuhiko Kikuchi, the Treasure Games guy who made Guardian Heroes and Sin & Punishment? WELL, today Atlus released the above trailer that introduces many of the characters you’ll encounter in what seems like a fairly strange action-RPG. Not only that, but an October 9 release date has been announced as well. So, you know, this fall you’ll have no shortage of big games to choose from, fer’sure.

There’s kind of a strange self-awareness going on in the trailer that I’m not totally on board with…but at the same time, I can appreciate it when an RPG tries to go forward and do something slightly different with its presentation. I’m hopeful that when the final game comes out, it’ll have more elements that seek to set it apart from the rest of the “weird Japanese RPG” pack.
