Well, it finally happened.

As of this week, Blizzard’s Diablo 3 real-money auction house has actually generated one player $10,000. Reddit user WishboneTheDog has posted screenshot after screenshot of evidence to Reddit to support his claim.

Using screenshots of his auction house transaction history and personal PayPal account, the now slightly-richer individual has a Reddit AMA dedicated to his accomplishments. He even stepped forward to offer his comments on Diablo 3’s status as both a game and an economy, saying that activity on both is rapidly declining due to players leaving once they’ve completed the game — but he expects auction house activity to pick up once again when PvP is implemented by Blizzard.

For those unaware, Diablo 3 launched (well, sort of) with a real-money auction house that allows players to sell found/earned in-game items for real cash instead of in-game gold. It seems now, that after hours and hours (and even more hours) of grinding, some money can be had in playing video games.

Of course, that’s a silly claim  – there’s no real money to be had in this industry.
