Video: QuakeCon 2012 Keynote Address by John Carmack
Did you, like me, happen to lack the free time and availability to attend QuakeCon 2012? Did you also, like me, beat yourself over the head for missing out on the livestreamed keynote by id Software co-founder John Carmack? Well if you did, you’re in luck — the video has been officially released on the QuakeCon YouTube channel for all with an Internet connection to view and enjoy.
While it may be presented in glorious high-definition for your delight, the darn thing is, to its credit, four freaking hours long. And while it’s a good, game-celebratory four hours, it’s still, well, four freaking hours long. You’re simply going to need one big ol’ bag of Popcorn for this viewing — probably a large soda too.
Get me one while you ‘re up, I’m kind of already comfortable. Thanks.

Damn, Carmack’s like the Steve Jobs of gaming… What he talked about in terms of VR and current tech was pretty interesting. I just hope I get to live to see VR and a non-controller interface implemented in a functional way (in terms of gaming). Very neat.
