Remember the God of War Collection? You know, the HD remastering of the first two GOW games all in one Blu-ray-enhanced package? What about the Origins Collection, which remastered the two PSP titles for play on the PS3? Well, it turns out that another, similar product might be launching soon that contains even more God of War-related goodness.

Based on a rumor initially reported by Siliconera, the God of War Saga Collection could include HD versions of the first two games in the series, but may also add the critically-acclaimed God of War 3, and possibly even the contents of the God of War Origins Collection (which contains HD versions of the two PSP titles Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta).

The collection is said to release this August.

With God of War: Ascension releasing right around the corner on March 12, 2013, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to see a hype-building HD collection release from Sony to get people jazzed about the series.

For (what we’re assuming will cost ) $60, that’s not a bad deal – not a bad deal at all.

Anyone noticing a trend here? This odl console cycle is promoting sequals and dequals (remakes) on a regular basis. If they don’t make a new console announcement during 2013 or 14, I’ll be super pissed with gamig all together.
