Exclusive Aliens: Colonial Marines Trailer

The guys over at Gearbox talk all things Alien and Aliens in this great trailer that shows plenty of behind-the-scenes footage. What you get is a lot of fans of the film franchise talking about how lucky they are to have gotten the chance to make a sequel to Aliens, and to that end, they discuss the ways in which they’re trying to emulate the cinematography and action stylings of James Cameron. Not only that, but we get to hear about a meeting with Ridley Scott that helped flesh out some of the franchise’s back story for the developers.

Let’s just hope they leave Prometheus out, right?

Anyway, the footage from the game looks really sweet. As far as making the game authentic, I have no doubt that Gearbox has that under control. Really, all that remains to be seen is whether or not it winds up being, you know, fun. I’ve got my fingers crossed…keep your eyes peeled for Aliens: Colonial Marines when it drops on February 12.
