Gunblitz Slated for Release on OUYA

For those worrying about the potential dearth of games for the crowd-funded OUYA console—currently cruising towards $5.8 million in funding with nine days left to go—a post on Joystiq today confirms that Gunblitz, a shoot’em-up from Rapture Game Studios will be headed to the Android-based console when it comes out in March.

The post also notes that Gunblitz will make its way to PCs in September as well, and while that’s all well and good, the real thrust of the story is the fact that the OUYA is slowly gathering more and more support for its eventual release. It’s easy to be skeptical of the device, especially given the relatively short turnaround time, and the fact that nothing like this has ever been attempted before. Hopefully as time goes on, more and more game-makers will pledge their support to the pint-sized system.
