Xbox Live Update Public Beta Signups Now Open
Announced this morning by Microsoft (via their resident megaphone holder Major Nelson) was the call for Xbox Live subscribers to register for the Xbox Live public beta update. Not all who sign up will be accepted, but those who are will gain early access to new features coming to the service in the upcoming dashboard update.
If accepted as a tester, you’ll gain access to new dashboard features like:
- Internet Explorer for Xbox
- Personalized dashboard recommendations
- Enhanced category search and discovery features
If you’re interested, go on and fill out the survey over on the Xbox website. You’ll be required to agree to a non-disclosure agreement (also known as an NDA), meaning you can’t blog about what you experience during your time testing the new dashboard — so keep that trap of yours shut!
Once accepted, you should get a confirmation email from the address attached to your Windows Live account, and/or a prompt for an update on your console.
Remember testers, you have responsibility now – so don’t screw this up for us.
Update – Sign-Ups Are Now Closed
The amount of interest in the #Xbox public Beta has been incredible – but we are now full and no longer accepting sign-ups.

Might Aswell Give it a go
Can’t wait to see if a browser on Xbox is better than on the PS3.
