Massive Left 4 Dead 2 Update Hits PC, 360 Later This Week
Valve’s again proving that once you buy one of their games, you never actually finish playing it. An update hit Left 4 Dead 2 today, adding the Cold Stream community-made campaign, 20 new maps, and all the Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns (Crash Course, Death Toll, Dead Air, and Blood Harvest). All mutators are now available from the game’s main menu as well.
In grand Valvey tradition, this update is completely free, provided you own the game. If you don’t, by marvelous coincidence the game is also on sale for $5.
This update is also coming to the Xbox 360 version of the game, but in grand Microsoftey tradition, it won’t be free. Tweets from the official Left 4 Dead development twitter peg the release at 560 MS points / $7.00 and should release in “just a few days.” Another bit worth noting — you’ll need to own The Passing DLC if you want to use mutators on the 360 version of the game.
Feels like the Team Fortress 2 resurgence on the heels of Meet the Pyro is just starting to recede… are we in for a few weeks of Left 4 Dead revival? I’m very okay with that.
