Classic Mario Games Discounted on 3DS eShop During August

The four weeks prior to the August 19 release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 have been labeled as the Month of Mario by none other than Nintendo. In celebration of this impromptu month-long holiday, the Big N is dropping the prices of four different classic Mario games on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

There will be one game on sale each week leading up to the launch of New Super Mario Bros. 2, and each deal lasts only through its respective week. Here’s the schedule:

July 26 – August 1

• Super Mario Bros. ($3.99)

August 2 – August 8

• Super Mario Land ($2.99)

August 9 — August 15

• Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins ($2.99)

August 16 – August 22

• Mario’s Picross ($2.99)

Take note that the oldest game amongst these is still the most expensive. Nostalgia has a price my friends, and no amount of running from left to right, coin collecting or Goomba-stomping will ever change that.
