According to an update from Gearbox community manager Chris Faylor, Borderlands 2 is code-complete and off to certification, meaning all the nooks and crannies of the game are being analyzed to make sure it’s ready to ship by September 18. Now that the SILLY game is out of the way though, the gurus at Gearbox are starting work on the game’s pre-order DLC , known only as the Mechromancer.

The Mechromancer content is (at this point) a new character class that will be released free of charge for members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club (meaning those that simply pre-ordered the game in some fashion), and will be available about “60 to 90 days after launch.” This new class has not been detailed any further as of yet, but hey, that’s why they’re working on it now, right?

However, anything we do know about the Mechromancer, we know from its official announcement at PAX East 2012. So…pigtails.
