Today, the PlayStation Blog announced that a Laugh Factory app would be headed to the PlayStation 3 in September. For those not in the know, the Laugh Factory is an LA-based comedy club that’s hosted some pretty awesome talent over the years. Apparently the app will feature live comedy performances, as well as older clips that they’ll make available.

The app will launch on September 1, and PS3 owners who like what they see can start subscribing for $3 a month when the free trial period ends in December. Three bucks a month? That’s kind of awesome, especially considering the live comedy aspect…

I really dig this. When it launches, I’ll definitely download it and check it out. I like that crazy new content is showing up on consoles every other day, and that a bunch of it is actually pretty awesome. Think we can get a live-streaming app from Caroline’s in Manhattan next?
