Competitive Multiplayer in GoW: Judgment Explained

Even though it doesn’t come out until March 19, 2013, the hype machine for Gears of War: Judgment from Epic Games and People Can Fly is already up and running. The above video is a five minute tutorial on the game’s competitive multiplayer mode, “OverRun.” Basically, it seems a lot like DotA, only broken up into separate chunks. As Damon Baird says, whoever can destroy the generator the fastest wins—and players get to play offense and defense in each match.

So, yeah, that’s the size of it. I’m not crazy, right? It’s DotA in Gears of War land.

Still, worth checking out if you want to know the specific abilities of each team’s class. What do you think? Am I way off base here and revealing my ignorance about a specific sector of gaming? Or am I RIGHT ONNA MONEY?

Doesn’t sound particularly MOBAish to me, more like Team Fortress. Still, it sounds really cool.
