Rumors began to surface again last week that following the success of Halo CE: Anniversary, 343 Industries and Microsoft were already at work on the Halo 2 HD Anniversary Edition. However, this simply isn’t the case, according to a 343i developer interview recently.

During a Q&A posted on Microsoft ExpertZone, a registration-only online resource used to train retail sales partners, the question was asked as to whether or not we’ll see an HD version of Halo 2 before the end of the Xbox 360’s life-cyle. 343i responded simply: “We are not working on that at this time. We are kind of busy.”

Don’t fret young ones, Halo is a money train (and for good, good reason) – so it’ll definitely be out sometime before we’re all old, sitting on the porch and reminiscing about our younger days.

It also could never come out, so there’s that.

Would of made no sense to divert resources away from Halo 4 just before its about to go gold. Unless they just outsource the bulk of the work to Certain Affinity.
