Mass Effect 3 DLC “Earth” Out Next Week

A post on Major Nelson’s blog reveals that a free multiplayer update for Mass Effect 3, called “Earth,” will be hitting XBLA on July 17, for the low-low price of FREE.

Now, as some of you may remember, back in June we wrote about a Reddit user named derptemp6698, who claimed that he’d had inside knowledge of this DLC, offering this summary of what the content will include:

“The fighting is fiercest when it’s your home at stake! Mass Effect 3: Earth adds mods, gear, and new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London. It features 3 new weapons: Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon light machine gun. Six new human N7 classes are also available: Destroyer, Paladin, Demolisher, Slayer, Shadow, and Fury!”

And here it is: “Earth,” and I’d be surprised if the description he offered wasn’t the very description we’ll get in the next few days from BioWare.

But then some commenter on our post said this:

“Really, Machinima? You’re citing someone on Reddit named derptemp6698 as a news source? Paragons of journalism, right here.”

“Paragons of journalism,” huh? Turns out he was right. We were right on the money. Who’s laughing now, jerk? WHO’S LAUGHING NOW?!

The answer is me—I am laughing! But mainly because I’m watching The Simpsons while I write this. I’ve already forgotten what this post is about. Some fishing game? Bass Effect or something, right?

Anyway, no word yet on whether or not this expansion to the fishing game is coming to the PlayStation 3 or PC on the same day—but it probably will. Someone check Reddit.

For free? Well considering I don’t think they could sell it for much more than a dollar, it was probably a good choice.
I sure hope Lawrence keeps posting on these even though he’s gone, I always did enjoy his input.

  at this point i’m planning on trading mass effect 3 in because I refused to spend any more money on any company that works with or for EA. That goes for bioware as well because its obvious that any company that sleeps with the devil has lost the very soul that made them great in the first place. I thank bioware for finally acknowledging its fan base with the token endings and the middle finger but my trust in bioware can never be restored as long as they continue to be owned by EA, the same goes for blizzard and activision, i’ve actually gotten to the point where i’ve decided to trade in all Branded games by these two, even the ones I like. Becaise of the principle of the matter. Sorry had to rant there for a bit
