Halo 2 HD Remake in the Works?

A post on Kotaku points to a snippet found in the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine UK. Allegedly, current Halo 4 devs, 343 Industries, are working on creating an HD remake of Halo 2:

“Following the success of remake Halo Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2 Anniversary.”

It’s possible, sure! Why not? If it makes money, I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t do that. Kotaku sought a comment from Microsoft on the rumor, and they didn’t say much on the issue:

“Our focus right now is on developing Halo 4. Beyond that, we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”

What do you think? Would you be down for an HD remake, maybe with some extras thrown in to wet your whistle? Let’s pretend that we’re focus grouping—your response will go right to Microsoft on whether or not this is something you want to buy. Weigh in, why don’tcha?

Yeah right. If Halo is yearly now, They would have 3 teams working on Halo 4, Halo 2 Ani, and either Halo 5 or Halo Wars 2. Most likely Halo 5 due to the probability of it being on the xbox8.

Fuck all this bullshit… :( still pissed off there is no new Halos for the PC… WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO FINISH THE FIGHT, HUH MICROSOFT?!?!

It is what it is, a gimmick. Unless they anything really new to the experience like perhaps the ending Bungie intended before it was cut, I won’t by it. If you really want to pay tribute to the fans, why not just focus on the current anticipated project rather than giving us the same recycled game with better graphics.

I got anniversary and it was a mother fucking fantastic i see why not do it. after all people say that halo 2 was the best because of its story and gameplay but here’s a idea. make it 60 bucks, throw in some pre order bonuses like on CE, and (unlike CE) reboot the halo 2 multiplayer matchmaking system.

I would love to buy halo 2 anniversary. It would save me money because i don’t want to get a boring old game. New is better!(Sometimes…)
