New ACIII Trailer Reveals GameStop Pre-Order Bonuses

By Brian P Rubin | 02 July 2012 | 5 Comments

Well, dang. While this new trailer for Assassin’s Creed III doesn’t really show off anything in the game that we didn’t already know about, it does unveil what pre-ordering at GameStop will get you: an exclusive single-player mission and sawtooth-sword weapon. That’s pretty cool.

A few weeks ago, I went ahead and pre-ordered at Best Buy…so I’m hoping that, maybe, we’ll hear about some exclusive content that’ll be coming from that retailer. Hoping hoping hoping…

But anyway, the single-player mission from GameStop looks like it takes Connor pretty far afield from the snow-covered New England landscape that provides the setting for most of the other gameplay content we’ve seen. Instead, he heads to a Mayan temple—of course. Because it’s in the Americas!

Interesting. Your thoughts? Anyone else pretty stoked about this game? Anyone else wish that the trailer had a bit more meat on it, or is it just me?

You know, I’m actually pretty excited for this title. I was pissed that they were pumping out all those spin offs, but this one might actually be sweet. It makes one wonder if they will continue this game through even more spin offs, like with AC2… We should get comfortable with this guy, in which case… We may be seeing him for the next couple of years…

To be clear, AC2 was a Sequel not a spin-off, AC3 is also a sequel. Brotherhood and Revelations were spin-offs.

actually eleglas, I think you have the definition of spin-offs incorrect. Brotherhood and revelations were not spin-offs, they were espansions, just Ubisoft decided to charge full price for them.

I loosely use the term “spinoff” to describe any game that is not a direct sequel. For example, AC 1, 2, and 3 are direct sequels. Everything else in the AC universe, both console and handheld, are considered spinoffs in my book. ODST and Reach are spinoff titles as well, but they are at least worth while detours from numbered titles.
