Mad Props: GameStop Selling Ezio’s Assassin Gauntlet
The other day, Ubisoft’s Facebook page linked to a GameStop product listing—for a $40, functional (but hopefully not lethal) replica of Ezio Auditore’s hidden-blade gauntlet from Assassin’s Creed II. The prop will be released on the same day as the next game in the franchise, October 30. It’s pretty slick looking…and pretty damn dangerous looking, too.
The prop’s made by NECA, the company responsible for plenty of high-quality replicas of video game goodies. The scary thing about this one, of course, is that it actually features a spring-loaded blade ejector thing, just like the game. The only difference, I believe, is that this jammy’s made of plastic instead of deadly metal. Though I bet you could still fuck up someone’s face something fierce with this thing. If nothing else, you could demolish someone’s eyeballs.
If you head over to GameStop’s listing, you can watch a demo video of the gauntlet in action, and pre-order the thing, which is being sold exclusively at the retailer in the USA.
And if you’re wearing one at a convention or whatever, stay the hell away from me. I only have two eyes.
