Hero Academy Coming to Steam

Robot Entertainment [Orcs Must Die] have announced that their iOS game Hero Academy will release on Steam on August 8.

The game will be mostly similar to the iOS version, though it will also include a squad of Team Fortress 2 characters and it will allow you to play with opponents on the iOS platform as well.

If you’re unfamiliar, Hero Academy is an asynchronous multiplayer strategy game in which you move around units on a grid that have varying attack and support capabilities. You play a turn, then the game is sent to your opponent and waits for their input. It’s like Words with Friends or Draw Something, only less retarded.

It’s important to note that the game lacks any form of single player, aside from the tutorial, so if you’re a friendless foreveralone, it may not be your cup of tea. There is a game finder which will try to match you against an opponent of equal skill, but it’s much more fun when you can yell at someone in real life for killing your cleric or whatever.

Wasn’t Gabe asked to play this in an interview not to long ago?
