Far Cry 3 Delayed
Yesterday, Ubisoft sent out a press release to let us down easy: their third installment in the Far Cry franchise is being delayed from its original launch window of early September until November 29 in Europe, and December 4 in the US of A. If you watch our daily news show on the YouTubes (and of COURSE you do!), Kovic and Dannevik theorized that the delay is likely being done so the game can launch simultaneously with the Wii U system—and their reasoning seems pretty sound.
Ubisoft’s going to the trouble of making and publishing a Wii U version of the title, but if everyone goes ahead and buys the game ahead of time for other systems, no one will buy it for the Wii U (kind of like what’s going to happen with Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, and the many other big titles from last year that have been announced for Nintendo’s new console). It’s entirely possible, too, that this new November 29 release date might actually be the day (or pretty damn near) when the Wii U drops. As of now, Nintendo hasn’t given us a hard release date. Which seems kind of silly to me, but there you go.
I should also note at this moment in time that the press release only says that Far Cry 3 will be coming out on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. So, you know, it’s not a perfect theory.

Hey Brian, if I could offer a suggestion to you:
I subscribe to your site through the RSS feed, which is great by the way. Is there a way you can make a post when a new IGD/IGW comes out? I sometimes miss it because it’s not that easy to find, unless you happen to look at the home page at the correct time.
Thanks for all the great news coverage!
You can suggest away! I’ll consult the powers that be in terms of updating the feed. I may have my name all over this stinkin’ blog, but I don’t have anything to do with the technical end of things. I’m more like a trained blog-monkey who only knows to hit certain buttons in certain ways. I’m sure Lawrence will explain this to me. And then I’ll be all like, “which one makes it go?” I’ll do my best, Man Man Man.
I bet the dev’s announcement of the this news was delayed a few weeks… Damn…
Damn it! Now I’l actually have time to play everything else while I’m waiting!
