Exclusive MechWarrior Online Trailer

By Brian P Rubin | 25 June 2012 | 5 Comments

Despite the disappointment that followed my time with Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, I’m still in the tank for mechs, man. I blame Voltron…the idea that you can crawl into the cockpit of a GIANT ROBOT and fuck up OTHER GIANT ROBOTS is just so cool. So now that we’ve got this new behind-the-scenes trailer of MechWarrior Online, I’m pretty stoked.

Russ Bullock, president of developer Piranha Games, explains the four pillars of gameplay they’re putting into place for the forthcoming MechWarrior Online, which is set to launch on August 7: Mech, Information, Role, and Community Warfare. Bullock presents a compelling case for the game they’re making, which looks like it’ll offer some solid robot-fighting fun.

Will it be as good as it looks? I can only hope so. I’m officially interested. Your thoughts?

they’ve said no single-player at launch, but possibly PVE down the line since they will always be able to add material

@Will; no single player. As the name implies (MechWarrior Online), the game will be online (MMO) and will be free to play (F2P). Currently it is in closed Beta phase so you will have to wait to play. If you like it enough, spend a little on it to help growth, other wise, you’re out nothing.
