Fire Emblem 3DS Will Arrive in North America in 2013

The upcoming iteration in the Fire Emblem franchise, Fire Emblem: Awakening, will release next year (2013) in North America exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. This was announced during this evening’s Nintendo Direct livestream, where Japanese gameplay was shown for a few fleeting moments and paid DLC for the game was confirmed (just like Japan).

Currently, and according to the newly introduced logo, the game is just being called “Fire Emblem” though — no word yet on whether or not they’ll keep the “Awakening” bit.

I think it sounds cooler that way. But hey, I also thought that Nintendo wouldn’t announce a new Nintendo 3DS tonight, and look how much crow I’m eating now.
