Users Petition Diablo III 1.0.3 Patch Changes

It’s just not a day on the Internet unless someone’s petitioning something. A monster patch that hit Diablo III yesterday, which tinkered with the costs of repair and crafting. Repair went up for higher level items, while the costs to crafting and leveling the artisans was cut by 50% or more.

Guess which one people are angry about.

Two separate petition threads (both of which have hit the post limit) have popped up asking Blizzard to reduce the repair cost of high level items, which is sort of amusing considering the post itself is self-contradictory:

“Even if it has no effect, I just wanted to start a petition for them to hotfix this ASAP!” the post reads.

Regardless, I don’t have a character high enough in level to get really dinged by this. I have a monk in the low 40s but I’ve mostly been focusing on playing in different classes than really grinding one to stardom.

Anyone out there feeling the pinch from the new repair rates?

Seriously… ME3′s ending? Sure. Some Kickstarter programs? Sure. A patch to Diablo 3? What the hell?

What they fail to mention is that, in Inferno mode, you can get the gold you need to pay off the new prices in less than 15 minutes of farming. On average you have to die 10 times before you need a full repair. If you can’t make 10k gold in that amount of time, something is wrong with what you’re doing.

Dying 4-5 times for me costs me about 18k to repair.. and I still die relatively easily lol =/.

Actually, if you’d play D3, you’d know the patch made more “nerfs” than just those. They promised to make the game easier, by giving bosses less HP, but they added enrage timers, which are like “become super powerful after 3 minutes”, this just blew the nerf patch away for me.

I play D3, and I noticed no changes overall, after playing my three different classes. (They aren’t all high-leveled, but they made some big class changes nonetheless) I approve of this patch, personally. It’s about damn time they make the jewel crafting, and blacksmithing actually affordable. I’d say it’s a fair trade for higher repair costs. As for the enrage timer, well, maybe that’s a bit much, but Diablo was NEVER supposed to be easy. As much rage as i’ve spent over dealing with bad combinations of Elite/Rare mobs, or the Skeleton Kings massive health pool in Hell before his nerf, I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s what Diablo has always been.

I agree, the monsters feel just as tough, sure maybe they 2-3 hit me in inferno now instead of 1-2 hit me. I was fighting Belial last night, finally beat her (with 1 friend), her meteor did 127k to me. Granted I’m not supposed to get hit by it anyways :P. So the monsters hardly feel any easier, and that enrage timer made things harder. After we figured out why Belial got so hard, we basically swapped our spells for full offensive, and just took her out ASAP before she became enraged, while losing defense so taking hits hurt a little more -_-. I’d rather fight a boss with more HP than be rushed into it and being punished for not beating them fast enough lol.

ALSO, Gem crafting discount is nice, but basically anyone that was on inferno kinda just got screwed over (level 60 and up). Crafting for those higher level gems didn’t get cheaper (or much cheaper at least). Blacksmithing (I finally upgraded to level 10), took me 40k instead of 125k, which is nice, but the things I can craft are huge disappointments. I guess I’ll just have to wait for those good blacksmithing plans. Repair plans went up for level 60′s, god, everything hurts so badly being a lvl 60 T_T. Time to keep farming act 1 and such ( at least drop rates increased ).

What annoys me is the decrease in jewel crafting. I would have been fine if they were just a bit cheaper, but by how much they went down I feel cheated of how much gold I have already spent. Having to pay 20,000 gold to get a flawless square jewel made it something to work towards.
