Rumor: Willem Dafoe in Quantic Dream’s Beyond

A post on Brogamer cites an anonymous source that claims knowledge of a major Hollywood actor joining Ellen Page in Quantic Dream’s forthcoming PS3-exclusive, Beyond: Two Souls, namely one Willem Dafoe—the Green Goblin himself.

That’s basically about the size of it from Brogamer. I will, however, embellish this slightly. You see, I RAN INTO WILLEM DAFOE IN THE GROCERY STORE. Where was this? Was it Hollywood? No, dear reader, it was Upstate New York, where I resided before I moved to Minneapolis last year.

You see, Dafoe is known to frequent New York’s Hudson Valley when he’s not filming movies and whatnot. In fact, the Hudson Valley’s bucolic landscape and relative proximity to New York City make it an ideal destination for many celebrities, including David Cross, Jane Fonda, and John Leguizamo, whose house I supposedly lived down the road from (never saw him).

So anyway, there I was, shopping for fish in Emmanuel’s Market. And I turned around and BAM—face to face with the Green Goblin himself. I smiled awkwardly because my brain was like, “I know who that is” and then the other part of my brain was like, “yeah, but only from TV, so don’t say ‘hi.’”

So I sheepishly moved away so he could check out the fish case.

Thus ends my story of “meeting” Willem Dafoe.

Also, he’s much shorter in person than you’d expect. And I”m pretty damn short.
