Microsoft Responds to Xbox 720 Document Leaks

Remember that post we had the other day about a leak of documents supposedly giving a preview of Microsoft’s next console? Why, sure you do! How could you forget? You couldn’t. It’s not possible.

Anyway, Eurogamer reached out to the company to see what the deal was. And the deal was, basically, “what? What’s that? Who are you now?”

Here’s Microsoft’s official response to the documents—which, it should be mentioned, were getting some noise from Microsoft’s lawyers about getting taken off the web:

“We understand there is great interest and anticipation for what comes next for Xbox and we are lucky to have customers who are so passionate about the platform.

Today, there has never been a better time to own an Xbox 360 console. We have found new ways to extend the console lifecycle by introducing controller-free experiences with Kinect and we’ve re-invented the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships.

We are continually thinking about the future of the platform and when we have something to share, we will.”

So, yeah. That’s a long-winded way to say “no comment.”
