Journey Developer Going Multi-platform and Completely Independent
Game developer thatgamecompany, also known as the team who brought you the PSN-exclusives Flow, Flower, and the critically acclaimed Journey, has gone fully independent thanks to a $5.5 million boost of capital funds from Benchmark Capital’s Mitch Lasky.
Not only are they independent, they’ll now be multi-platform – as the contract signed with Sony to create their past three games has now come to an end.
“This enables us to bring our games to more platforms and provide our players the highest quality experience at every point of contact,” Chen added.
The team is reportedly “very excited about our new adventure” and will announce additional info about that next project “soon.”
All I know is that more games like Journey is a good thing, and that more games like Journey on multiple platforms is a GREAT thing.
