The lack of Tomb Raider in this list bugs me.
That was brought up in award deliberation… you’ll also notice the lack of Dead Space 3. Unfortunately in all the categories, both games were JUST edged out by other nominees.
That’s strange as Tomb Raiders been winning lots of awards this year. IGN even gave it Best of E3. Shame it just missed out.
IGN gives their biggest award to the people with the biggest wallets.
Lawrence is 100% spot on, just because something wasn’t officially nominated doesn’t mean it wasn’t debated.
I, for one, LOVED what we saw of Tomb Raider. See? It’s not like we didn’t like it.
its very obuis that my garmer sucks and that Activision haves the bigest pokets
whyat the fuck, wheres watch dogs it should have been nominated in almost every category!!!???
while i agree with you i think it isn’t on the list because it has no platform announcement yet and with so little information it is difficult to categorize it. i still think it deserves best in show though.
One of our requirements for nomination is that the game be playable at E3. Watch Dogs was not, thus no nomination.
So next year is watchdog’s year.
So even though the category could be “Best Trailer” it has to be playable? The trailer was incredible!
where is dust 514?
Where the hell is Watch Dogs????
I love how someone RIGHT ABOVE YOU just asked the SAME QUESTION, and Lawrence answered it, yet you didn’t bother reading it. I swear, is there ever going to be a videogame awards article where someone doesn’t post stupid nonsense?
What about Spec Ops: The Line?
Put that in instead of Black Ops 2.
Y U NO MEDAL OF HONOR
How in the giant merlin balls did the ACIII trailer not earn a spot in the best trailer category
No MoH at all? after reading Lawrence’s comment of “One of our requirements for nomination is that the game be playable at E3. Watch Dogs was not, thus no nomination.” i guess they did not get to play it. Or it was just not in the league of the nominations :(
that makes me sad.
MoH was playable, and looked absolutely incredible. It should have definately been on the list for best multiplayer shooter. Seeing as there was no Black ops 2 multiplayer footage or any sort of multiplayer demo, I think MoH with their multiplayer demo should have replaced BO2.
Any thoughts?
Nothing about Medal of Honor made it stand out at all. It’s an online multiplayer shooter, sure, but what qualities made it worthy of nomination? The other games we nominated are doing something new and exciting with multiplayer.
And before that sets off a shitstorm, yes Black Ops II is on there, but we actually saw some really cool new ideas from the multiplayer in that game. Check out our stage demo of the multiplayer if you disagree.
Where’s Agni’s Philosophy from Square Enix?! Or Elemental from Epic?! Those games were the best at the show! Shame on you, Machinima… I really can’t trust your judging opinions anymore…
Also, FYI, Half Life Episode 3 was announced via Morse Code during the MS conference… The tapping of the speakers shoes? I guess you people won’t be nominating that either, huh? Tss… Excuse me. I need to go wash all this ignorance off.
I hope it came across in the first paragraph of this post that these choices were not all unanimous.
Just because a title wasn’t a final nomination doesn’t imply that it wasn’t a consideration…or even fought for.
Exactly. Everyone keeps posting about games not listed as if their kids didn’t make the football team or something. This isn’t the end of the world… :/
Also neither of those were actual games, much less playable. Our rule is that if a game is not playable, or if we can’t actually use hardware, we won’t nominate it.
Lol, I know they were just demos of their engines. But the whole HLE3 thing is true. I’m being seriously.
Where is Crysis 3 the game should have made it to the nomination for zhe best shooter.
I completely agree with this list… *everyone’s brains explode*
++1
Halo 4 should win everything it was nominated for.
