New LucasArts game is Star Wars 1313

As rumored by our very own Billy Shibley (in random mutterings around the Machinima office, but maybe he had secret sources he wasn’t revealing…or just the secret sauces on his t-shirt), the new LucasArts game has a Boba Fett theme.

We’d heard rumblings about a new franchise late last week, and news that “Star Wars 1313″ had been trademarked by LucasArts came out early this month. It turns out that both stories were connected after all, because Star Wars 1313 is the name of a game purported to be an adult spin on the universe we know and love (half of, that is… the second half…). The reveal slipped out a little early as we prepare for E3, but there’s a Facebook page, and bandied around stories about the possibilities of the game.

LucasArts also published a press release, revealing that the game’s title refers to “Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet Coruscant.” The game puts players “in control of a ruthless bounty hunter” who’ll use “an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy.” The press release also explains that the gameplay will focus on using “human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers.”

Sounds great, not Battlefront 3 great, but much better than continuing selling the franchise off.

  They’re not making another KOTOR, so TOR is your best option, plus it rounds off Revan’s story… probably

This game better be LONG, have FUN gameplay and GREAT story, and beautiful graphics(like in TFU2)! And not too much gore if its rated M, because gore and star wars dont mix at all

Sounds like Bounty Hunter 2, which sounds great to me. Before people get their hopes up, no one said you play as Boba Fett, they said “a bounty hunter”. As much as I love Boba, I think it’d be better if it was a whole new character.
