Yesterday it was revealed that a brand new Gears of War game will be front and center on the cover of the next issue of Game Informer. While there are still plenty of details we don’t know, Epic Games’ President Mike Capps has let slip one important tidbit: Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly is in the mix.

On his Twitter account, Capps said, “Do I detect People Can Fly involvement? YES YES YES!”

News that People Can Fly was working on a game for Epic that wasn’t related to Bulletstorm had come out back in April, so it all makes sense. And an even earlier story from November of last  year points to rumors that the developer was going to be working on a Gears prequel—a concept that had been suggested in our comments from yesterday’s GI reveal post.

So that’s that. Gears prequel, developed by People Can Fly. No need to wait for an official announcement now! Thanks, rumors, Twitter, and smart comments!

Even still, there’s another PC-exclusive game that Epic’s got happening that has yet to be announced. Maybe we’ll hear more at E3 next week…

There’s plenty of Painkiller to go around. I still haven’t finished Overdose…

Well, it’s impossible for it to be any more lackluster than Gears 3.
