ZeniMax Files Trademark for “Hearth Fire”
Today Fusible reports that ZeniMax, the company that owns Skyrim-making Bethesda Softworks, has filed a trademark for something called “Hearth Fire.” The post points out that the company has, in recent months, filed trademarks for “Dragonborn” and “Fus Ro Dah.” In addition, the post notes that “Hearth Fire” is a reference to a skill book within Skyrim, a power that gives players the ability to summon creatures or make energy weapons. Y’know—GAME STUFF.
However, it should be noted that the last time ZeniMax trademarked something that sounded so marketable, it was “Dawnguard,” which turned out to be the name of the new DLC for Skyrim. While it’s certainly possible they’re just covering their bases in terms of trademarking stuff that’s in their games already, I’m putting my money on this being the name of yet more DLC. Mark it, dude.
