“Trusted Sources” Say Rockstar Skipping E3

A post on CVG today claims to have heard from “trusted sources” that Rockstar Games won’t be attending E3 in LA when it kicks off next week. The source told the site that Rockstar “has no plans for E3,” and that executives and development staff for the company “will not be in attendance at E3 in any capacity.”

If true, anyone hoping to get a glimpse of Grand Theft Auto V—which has a release date of no one knows—is out of luck. According to the post, Rockstar tends not to show demos of upcoming games at E3, but many people this year thought the company would break with tradition to show off the hotly anticipated fifth installment in the GTA series. As of now, of course, none of this has been confirmed by Rockstar officially.

Interestingly, news of what you WON’T see at E3 tends to make more of a bigger splash than what we will. Other companies who have announced that they won’t be announcing anything include Valve and Bungie. I guess when you’re as big as these three companies, you don’t really need E3 to cause a big stir among gamers.

they said that ages ago and you covered it, if you look on the exhibitors list it also shows no sign of Rockstar.

somehow im not really on the hypewagon when it coms to gta. I’m thinking that rockstar can do whatever the fuck they want and take as much fuckin time they want because their games are just a privilege for us mere mortals. It comes out when it comes out and it will be amazing. Better to take their time and make an awesome game then rush it. Just look at Max Payne. Original release date winter 2010. But they took their time to probably create the multiplayer and fix the game a little more and it became awesome.
