The Witcher Developer Unveiling New “Triple-A RPG” Tomorrow (Updated with Teaser Image)

CD Projekt, developer of The Witcher, has confirmed that it will be unveiling a brand-new RPG during its press conference tomorrow.

Let’s get the painful part out of the way, dearest Witcher fans. Though it was speculated that the original Witcher game was going to release on consoles (based on some “leaks from Danish game retailers), it turns out that rumor was a dud.

The Witcher 1 will not be announced for consoles…tomorrow anyway. There’s a possibility it could happen in the future, but the studio isn’t discussing that option at the moment.

The studio mentioned that what they DO plan to detail tomorrow is their “second triple-A RPG in development.” It will take place in a “brand new setting”.

CD Projekt’s head of marketing Michal Platkow-Gilewski talked to EuroGamer about their impending announcement, saying:

“We are gearing up for our upcoming conference and we have encountered some speculations concerning what we will be announcing.

We would like to share some light about what will happen tomorrow. In regard to the Witcher, we are planning some surprises for the second half of the year and for the next year, but during the conference we will sum-up The Witcher and Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition also, we will give a bunch of new information. To make it really clear – we will not be announcing Witcher 1 for consoles.

The major announcement on the conference tomorrow is related to the gun icon on cdpred.com career page. We will give you the first bit of information about our second AAA RPG in development.     I’m freaking psyched. CD Projekt is probably the best RPG dev out there. This game should be interesting, indeed.
