Demon Souls Multiplayer Servers Staying Online Into The “Foreseeable Future”
Announced by game publisher Atlus recently was the news that the online multiplayer servers for Demon Souls will in fact not be closing down as planned on May 31, 2012 – but will instead remain open for use into the “foreseeable future.”
“We’re incredibly excited to be able to announce that the Demon’s Souls online experience will persist for a while longer,” mentioned Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
“While it originally seemed as though it would be unfeasible for us to continue to sustain the servers, a number of developments have made it possible for us to continue to invest in and support our fans as they have continued to invest in and support us and Demon’s Souls.”
Atlus specifically mentions that they’re not ruling out the possibility of future extensions on North American servers, given that player activity and interest remains for the game.
If it’s a game you somehow missed, but feel like jumping into, it’s only $20 on the PS3 due to its acceptance into Sony’s “Greatest Hits” library. So by all means, scoop it up.
So all-in-all, what have we learned today – oh that’s right, some publisher’s do ACTUALLY care about you, the consumer!
Refreshing, no?
