Jet Set Radio Announced for the PS Vita, Coming This Summer

Sega announced this morning that the memorable Dreamcast hit Jet Set Radio will see a portable release on the PlayStation Vita this summer.

The Vita release will act as a handheld version of the HD rerelease coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, also set to arrive this summer. While it supposedly will remain content-complete with the console versions, the game will make special use of the integrated Vita touch functionality, letting you spray graffiti with ease.

The system’s camera will also be put to use – hopefully adding the ability to add your own graffiti to the world of Jet Set Radio. Also of note, who among you wouldn’t enjoy some ARG magic in Jet Set Radio? That’s right, NONE of you.

“The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible!” said Senior Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA Haruki Satomi. “As Jet Set Radio is focused on creativity, the touch capabilities of the PlayStation VITA are proving to be a perfect fit.”
