Blizzard Details Steps for Refunding Those Who Preordered Diablo III through GAME

If you recall the night of the Diablo 3 launch, Blizzard proposed that it would make amends with those affected by the shutdown of GAME, Australian retailer who held many of the game’s preorders. When the company went under a few weeks ago, all who preordered the game were out of any cash they put in, justifiably angering a good handful of customers.

Thankfully, Blizzard has stepped in as the righteous middle man to make sure everyone that bought the game directly through Blizzard (despite their GAME preorder) gets their preorder dollars back.

Posted up on the official Diablo III forums, the instructions are relatively simple and involve nothing more than a simple scanning of your preorder receipt and a few minutes of your time. Once you’ve scanned the receipt, send it off to Blizzard customer support, and any eligible customers (meaning those who purchased the game directly from Blizzard before May 21, as previously announced) will get a refund in the form of credit from Blizzard, which can be used on other Blizzard products.

Those who pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition from GAME will even get their promised digital bonuses manually added to their account, a kind bit of bonus effort on Blizz’s end.

Don’t try to trick them though, they’re running any submitted claims up against a list of preorders obtained from the belly-up retailer.

Australian friends – let us know how it goes for you!

    How awesome of Blizz!

Even though myself and all my friends pre-ordered D3, I don’t know of anyone who actually got screwed over. All happy faces here, and the game is amazing.
