Screens from Project Copernicus Appear Online
As we wait for Curt Schilling’s official announcement that 38 Studios is filling for bankruptcy (because, c’mon, it’s probably gonna happen at this point), some screens from the in-development MMO “Project Copernicus” have found their way to the Internet.
Three screenshots of the game’s playable races—the Jottun, the Almain, and the Dverga—were posted by someone named AlynShir on 38Watch.com, a fan-site dedicated to the Kingdoms of Amalur developer. As to who AlynShir might be isn’t quite clear, but it seems like a fair assumption that he or she works for 38 Studios, as the post comes with the text, “38 isn’t dead yet.”
In addition, the official website for 38 Studios also has some desktop wallpaper featuring environments that seem concept-arty, so those are kind of nice too.
The project is (supposedly) still being worked on at 38 Studios for a June 2013 release. The images do look pretty nice…but I wouldn’t be surprised if Project Copernicus doesn’t wind up on shelves next year. Even still, enjoy the art.

Since the game was clearly a major success…
It would be such a shame to see 38 Studios close…
Boom…done!
Looks beautiful. Pity we may not see the finished product.
