PAYDAY and Left 4 Dead Crossover for Zombie-Killing, Bank-Robbing Action
I like it when people play nice. News broke this morning that Valve and Overkill Entertainment, the developers behind Left 4 Dead and PAYDAY: The Heist, respectively, are working together to create a crossover for the two titles.
Ulf Anderson, game director at Overkill, posted a message on the company’s website about the collaboration, saying “we are working on a very cool blend of PAYDAY and Left 4 Dead. I am sure it is so exciting that I will have some players check into the hospital before we are done.
That’s pretty serious.
Apparently, there have been hints dropped into PAYDAY about a possible crossover with the L4D franchise. What’s cool about this (besides the fact that two developers are working together to make something interesting and new) is that this will bring all kinds of interest to Overkill and its games, now that they’ve got the official Valve seal of approval. There are few companies that gamers like and respect more than Valve (with one of the only exceptions being, maybe, Mojang), and by virtue of this project, Overkill’s going to get a ton more credibility than they’d had before. I know I’M more interested, that’s for sure.
What do you think? Gonna check it out? Are you packing your suitcase for your eventual trip to the hospital?
