GameStop: Guild Wars 2 Delayed Until After July

A post over on Gamespot cites an investor call from GameStop (I KNOW IT’S CONFUSING THEIR NAMES ARE SIMILAR), in which the used game retailer’s CFO Robert Lloyd dropped some knowledge about when Guild Wars 2 might show up.

As of this writing, Guild Wars 2 is listed on GameStop’s website as coming out on June 26. But Lloyd mentioned that the game’s ship date has fallen out of the current quarter, meaning that it won’t show up until at least after July.

Sad panda, you guys. Sad panda.

  they had a weekend event a few weeks back.
  not sure when the next one will be but if you pre-purchase it you get guaranteed access to all events

This is horse-puckey from someone trying to sell something.
ArenaNet has consistently said the release date is “When It’s Done!!!”
Just last Tuesday another vendor put up signs giving June 28 as a release date.
When ANet was asked about this, guess what they said?

This article is false. Guild Wars 2 has NOT been delayed. A release date has to be announced in order for it to have been delayed and a release date has NOT been announced. ArenaNet has always said they will release it “When it’s done.” That June 26th date on Gamestop and any other release date anywhere else is purely speculation on their part until one is officially announced by ArenaNet.

WTF? I’ve been waiting ever since May. That’s just bull shit! I don’t care about the damn delay, I’m going to GameStop on June 26!
