According to a report on Kotaku, video game mega-retailer GameStop plans to stop selling titles for the PSP at its smallest 25 percent of brick-and-mortar retailers.

A GameStop representative referred to this choice as a “consolidation” and is a part of the typical business act of attempting to “maximize the merchandising space”.

Ol’ GameStop will continue to keep games for the Vita’s older brother on the shelves of its larger stores as well as online.

And lo, the PlayStation Portable begins its slow fall from grace. Grace, mind you, that consisted of frequent system updates, easy “hackability”, and lack of a second analog stick.

It had some cool software though – which you should head out and buy while it’s still around.
