Wii U Concept Art and Possible Price Point Leaked

The online survey company known as Global Test Market (the same company that revealed the Goldeneye 007 remake for the Wii) recently showed off some familiar concept art for the Nintendo Wii U to certain consumers, showcasing some of the main features we’ve already seen in previously released videos from Nintendo.

However, leaked alongside the colorful imagery was the possible $300 price point for the system – a price that Global Test Marketing was shopping around to consumers to see if they would purchase such a system at that price.

For a company that, from a modern standpoint, tends to price their systems lower than the competition, a price point only $50 more than the Wii (and the launch 3DS) seems very in-line with typical Nintendo behavior.

While we’ll only be seeing the final version of the Wii U and its launch software at E3, the pricing and release details will only be revealed shortly after the show.

What about you –would you pay $300 for the Wii U?

I personally think the WiiU will sell better if it includes 2 wiimotes with the system as well as the main console and tablet

I was expecting $300, so I’m prepared to sink that. I just hope it comes with a substantial game, even though that’s totally not the trend anymore.

I’m not spending more than 200 on a new console during this generation. Unless the Wii U offers more than what the big boys have on the table, I think I’ll pass on Nintendo all together. Their console just doesn’t seem to offer much…
