Capcom Expects Resident Evil 6 to Sell Seven Million, DMC Around Two Million

Capcom has laid out official commercial projections of how it expects its products to sell over the next year. Most significantly, it expects to sell upwards of seven million copies of Resident Evil 6, and Devil May Cry settling somewhere north (or south) of two million copies.

Other titles like the recently announced Lost Planet 3 are expected to sell around 1.4 million copies, with the soon-to-release Dragon’s Dogma barely squeaking ahead in the predictions race at 1.5 million.

So that’s Capcom predicted future sales in a nutshell for you. Though, the only concern that comes to mind is that of the Resident Evil 6 sales. Thinking back, Resident Evil 5 sold around two million in its first six months in the US alone – will the same apply for RE6?

Also notably important to sales prediction is the overall reception of RE6 in comparison to RE5, because RE5 certainly wasn’t as…well, “positive” as it certainly could have been.

But it seems today, conversely, the next iteration of Capcom’s horror-survival-action shooter is very much being looked forward to.

given how capcoms loyal fans have been handling their recent dlc practices I do not expect them to meat their expectations

As for me I plan on wiating for the complete editions since capcom has a reputation for loping off the end of the game to sell to eager fans later on. I fully expect them to make this a a regular occurrence so its better to wait.

RE5 was a bit of a let down, enjoyable and I replayed it many times but still found it lacking. . RE6 seems to be heading back to its RE4 roots which I personally am hoping but with the different stories it seems like they are bunching a lot of different game styles to try and please everyone. So I’m thinking it may sell what they predict but I just hope I don’t end up hating the Chris or wesker jr sections of the game. I’d feel like I’m playing 1/3 of a game and the rest is just a task or chore leaving me unsatisfied and loathing the capcom brand even more

DmC WIll be alright, I like the Idea of added air combat. I still need to get ahold of jump cancelling that will be returning. Everyone hates the new Dante, but sometimes things change. I think he’s alright, not as good as the old Dante but still at least he’s not skinny as fuck anymore and has a decent haircut. xD
