There’s “Definitely Room” For a Halo Wars Sequel
Alongside the ever-exciting Halo 4 news trickling out of Game Informer came a brief, albeit compelling discussion about the future of Halo Wars, the off-shoot console RTS by the long gone Ensemble Studios, and the even more compelling possibility of a Halo Wars 2. GI sat down with 343 Industries Franchise Director Frank O’ Connor to prod him for more details.
“Halo Wars, I mean people loved Halo Wars.
It’s not something we’re working on right now, but the Halo universe can support these different experiences.
We try and keep people focused on the main core of our universe, which is ultimately, and more specifically the sequential ones. That’s our main focus and that’s going to be our main focus going forward, but there’s definitely room for new and different types of Halo experiences.”
He continues, mentioning how the studio walks a fine line when drawing borders across Halo experiences, but also making sure they don’t each solely exist inside their own “ancillary bubble.”
Mr. O’ Connor went on to discuss more interesting tidbits of Halo narrative, but for that, you should head on over to the GI article and watch the videos for yourself.
Well darn — this has made me downright nostalgic. I’m going to go shake off the rust and play a few rounds of skirmish for old time’s sake.

the legendary ending called for a sequel and the got 3 spartans!, love it if the could tie it into something that they meet fred, linda, kelly, naomi and the spartan 3s. (halo 6= lots of spartans killing lots of bad guys
I think the Legendary ending is leading up to Halo 4. I could be wrong but I wouldn’t doubt Cutter and the crew will be in 4.
I’m almost certain they will include them. When I first saw Reach, I would have sworn that George was Fred and Kat was Kelly. This might have actually been the case in the beginning, but licensing issues might have tampered with the plot… Especially with that fiasco involving Noble 6 and the spartan who dies in Deliver Hope. My guess is that we’ll be playing Chief’s story from the very beginning to the present. Imagine it. 343i puts us at the boot camp from the POV of Chief as a kid. E.P.I.C.
I second this.
